About Us

My name is Karen Tuscano and I am a work at home mom to three beautiful children. I became a full time mom when my daughter was born in October 2005, after 16 years at the same job !! I live in Delaware, and am a part of our local Babywearing group (DELMARVA Babywearers) – see Links for more information.

I met a woman in the grocery store one day while I was pregnant and she was carrying a two year old in a woven wrap, we stopped to speak, and right then I decided “I have to have one of those for when the baby is born”. I had worn my son in a Sugli 11 years earlier and knew there was a better way!! Well my dear daughters have been carried since day one, not only in a wrap (which is my personal favorite), but a ring sling, pouch, Mei Tai and ERGO (my otehr favorite these days!) as well. I truly believe that each type of carrier has its merits and each person will have their favorite (some of us have lots of favorites!).

Baby carriers offer so many benefits to both mother (or caregiver) and child, and I have found that the selection available in “brick and mortar” stores is sorely lacking. I started Hands Free Baby in the hope that every parent can find the carrier that works for them and their baby!
